We are asking all the well wishers,donors,churches and any person woman or man that has a heart to standing with us to help in our need,our orphan and widow ministry is in a bad state and we are in nee of food,clothing's,sheets,shoes and any other help you deem fit...please here are our contact details..so that you can be of any help to us...we pray daily that as you help us may the lord remember you and fill you with goodness,bless you and your family,and bless your work and ministry too...waiting to here from you soon.

This widow her state is so bad,she is swollen because of no food,she has lost one kid becouse of hunger and starvation.

Silvia is a good talented girl who wants to continue her school education but has no clothing's,school uniforms and books...we are asking you on her behalf to accept helping her out.

We also want to buy a cow for the widows that will help them get milk,and sometimes sell the offspring's to buy their daily needs or get their kids to school.

HOW TO SPONSER A CHILD.

FAQ's How do I sponsor a child? There are two ways you can pick a child to sponsor 1. Click "CWe have needy child to help.... We categorize our sponsorship program to meet specific needs of the children, as well as the sponsor's pocket. The amount is determined by the type of sponsor (bronze, silver or gold) you choose to become. Bronze Sponsor: ($25/month) – Your support will be used to provide three nutritious meals to a child for a month, primary school education & healthcare. Silver Sponsor: ($35/month) – Your support will be used to provide full care for one child for a month, including three meals, clothing, primary school education, books, beddings, personal effects, healthcare and housing. Gold Sponsor: ($50/month) – Your support will be used to provide full care for one child plus contribution to the child’s secondary school & college education fund. How much of my sponsorship money reaches the child? Over 90 percent of your monthly sponsorship money will go directly to support your child. The majority of God with us orphan ministry operating costs are to be funded separately through volunteer program and other sources. How do I pay? The easiest way is online via western union. You just need to click on our website and get how to do it. You may also wire the sponsorship donation directly into Gwum bank account, details on "support us" page of our website. You may make the sponsorship payment quarterly, semi-annually or annually. Upon receiving your donation, we usually send an official acknowledgement receipt for every contribution made. How do I communicate with my child? The cheapest and effective way of communicating with your child is by mailing letters to each other. Most of our children live in the very rural with no access to internet. You can exchange letters, pictures, drawings etc on regular basis, and GWUOM staff will assist your child in responding to your letters. Sponsors do use the address at the bottom of this page because many families do not have postal address, and the letters are hand-delivered by our staff. What do I get from GWUOM? Sponsors regularly receive updates on the progress of their children, as well as photos and personalized letters for the duration of their sponsorship. You will have an opportunity to rescue a child, raise a leader and rebuild a nation, as well as developing a relationship with your sponsored child. Also, you will receive acknowledgement note or official receipt for every donation you send. Can I send material gifts to my child? Not at all! While it may seem like a good idea with the best of heart-felt intentions, sending material gifts not only get lost on the way here, but attract huge taxes & duties that sometimes exceed the cost of the gift. GWUOM always has children waiting for sponsorship that have been referred to us by the local community, churches and government leaders.GWUOM we give priority to children in greatest need, or sponsors can choose a child with preference to age, gender or background. Can I visit my sponsored child? Yes. We encourage you to visit your child, an experience that will certainly be life changing for you and your sponsored child! GWUOM offers short-term volunteer programs which would allow you to visit and spend time with your sponsored child, for more information please check on the site "volunteer" page. How do I know if my sponsorship money is being used as intended? All our dealings are conducted with lot of transparency, honesty and accountability. We have needs "supply and distribution" form that we use to deliver goods and services to our sponsored children. Each time a child collects an item or receive any form of service such as healthcare that requires money, the child or his/her guardian has to put a signature. This form clearly states the sponsorship goals and what GWUOM hope to offer entire year of engagement and a copy is mailed to sponsors at the beginning of the year and another copy at the end of the year indicating the achievements. Also, our financial books are always open and the auditor is welcome at anytime. What if I do not send my sponsorship money in time? We do encourage sponsors to send their sponsorship money on time. Also, we encourage them to notify us should they anticipate delay in sending their sponsorship. Failure in making sponsorship payment for more than three consecutive months may result in looking for a new sponsor for your child. How long does a child sponsorship last? The length of time that a sponsorship lasts remains at sponsor's will. Typically, we assume that the sponsorship continues until the child becomes self-sustaining. We hope that sponsors will commit for at least one year. What if I need to discontinue my child sponsorship? You can discontinue your Child Sponsorship at any time by notifying us via email or phone. Once we are notified, we begin the process of finding a new sponsor so that the child's support can continue. The more lead time we receive on the discontinuation, the easier it will be to find a new sponsor and continue support without interruption. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Cow project

Sustainable Agriculture Program Recognizing the long-term physical, emotional, social and economic effects of malnutrition, hunger and poverty, God with us orphan ministry places great emphasis on teaching older children how to grow vegetables and staple food crops. The children learn sustainable techniques to produce basic grains such as maize, beans and peas, and learn how to organically produce garden vegetables and fruits. The farm animals provide malnourished orphans with protein in the form of meat, eggs and milk.

Getting to Bungoma Kenya takes time. From North America, the trip usually takes more than a day. Typically, planes fly from North America to London or Amsterdam and then on to Nairobi international airport in Kenya (via British Airways or many others this days ).

Flight costs vary depending on the country of departure, current economic conditions and fuel prices. Typically, prices range from $1400 US to more than $2000 US. In addition to the cost of flights, a Kenya entry visa which costs $50 US must be purchased. While this visa may be obtained in advance through an embassy, it can also be purchased in the airport from local Kenyan officials. If you intend to purchase a visa at the Kenya airport, you will need to have the $50 US payment in cash when you land.

Once in Kenya, we will happily arrange to meet you or your team at the Kenya international airport. GOD WITH US MINISTRY can take several persons and their luggage and we can easily arrange vans or buses to transport medium to large groups. Please contact us in advance to discuss transport arrangements for you or your team. The trip from Kenya international airport to the outskirts of the Kenya capital city of Nairobi takes 6 to 8 hours to get to Bungoma.But you can also take another flight to either Kisumu airport or Eldoret airport where we can pick you from their which is closer to Bungoma..estimated at 1:30min to 2hrs .
Bungoma is in the western part of Kenya and its in this region that you find m.t Elgon,lake Victoria,and on your way to malaba Uganda.

Churches around the globe send individuals and groups to Bungoma to work with the Church and orphanages around. Some come to teach the children, others to education and build up school and even teaching Pastors or ministry leaders. Children's Education

We believes that education is extremely important to improve the lives of orphans and poor children. We support their education by providing schooling support, continuously discussing their progress with teachers. We also find responsible guardians to take them in and help us support them. With support for food, school uniforms and medical care we ensure their participation and encourage them to complete their education.

Orphanage Program

GOD WITH US ORPHAN MINISTRY houses the children most in need at our orphanage at Busia,kamasielo,and chebukwa and works with communities to find guardians to house more children. Sponsorship for these children (either at the orphanage or with guardians) is crucial for the success of this project. The orphanage accommodates both boys and girls who have lost both parents. We have successfully placed many needy children with guardians in local communities around Kenya.

Health care Program

GWUOM believes that good health is essential. To facilitate this,we focus on preventive health strategies such as providing vaccinations, immunizations, health-care education and other services. We find feasible ways to provide or facilitate the provision of affordable, sustainable and quality health care in remote rural communities.

He needs some money to help her start a bussiness to ensure that she has food and can buy medicines and also buy clothing and get a place to sleep..after the war that coused her to ran away from the forest and reside here since..10 yrs now...Women Micro-savings program This is unique development project that empowers women to overcome the burdens of poverty by teaching them how to form a savings co-operative. This also helps changing their traditional financial habits of spending everything they earn with much hardship leaving them with nothing for emergency. The project at GWUOM has had solid success mobilizing small groups of women to save for a twelve month period before investing in targeted small business ventures. Each woman is required to save $1 per week. We are looking for individual sponsors or corporate to help match the women fund.

Hello potential volunteer! Thank you so much for taking interest in Watoto Wa Baraka. The volunteer program enables you to experience life in East Africa and participate in the many programs that we run. You will have the opportunity to try different roles and programs, dependent on your interests and skills. Our volunteers come from all over the worl....Volunteer Opportunities We offer exciting short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities in Kenya, East Africa. Our volunteer placements are open to people of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of nationality or qualifications. Volunteers certainly gain an amazing life experience from their participation in our placement program. The unique thing.........., we allow volunteers to 'sample' all the tasks being offered, and we recruit new volunteers all the year round. Volunteer projects Volunteer projects are typically located at the orphanage and its surroundings, in a village called Pundamilia – Makuyu, north of Nairobi towards Mount Kenya. The orphanage is a secure compound with dormitories for boys and girls as well as staff & volunteer housing. It’s on a fertile land with coffee, bananas, mango and overcado trees, as well as vegetable garden and sports field. Also, there are animals such as pigs, cows, rabbits and chicken. ...The Kenyan Experience As a volunteer, you will experience traditional Kenyan life and participate in daily activities, such as cooking over an open fire, collecting water from a well, playing with children, teaching children, assisting in the vegetable garden as well as outreach programs. Placement Work Prior to your placement, we encourage you let us know what your interests are and your level of experience in that field. This will enable us to plan your placement and make any necessary arrangements for the work. Your placement work will begin after the orientation. The type of work you are involved with will be dependent on your interests, abilities, level of experience as well as your comfort levels. One of the advantages of the Watoto Wa Baraka program is that you are not limited to one job role and will have the opportunity to ‘sample’ other roles during your placement. To become involved in another project simply inform a member of staff who will happily make any necessary arrangements...Work Schedule Working hours are normally 6-8 hours a day. Time away from work e.g. for traveling to other parts of Africa can be arranged through informing the orphanage manager. The minimum stay at this reserve is one week. Upon arrival, there is an orientation session for new volunteers to become acquainted with the local culture, language and the project work. Further training and supervision may be provided to new volunteers who are interested in tasks for which they lack adequate experience. More experienced volunteers are given direction, but work under minimal supervision...Accommodation While working at the orphanage or surrounding community, volunteers will stay at the main compound in the village of Pundamilia. Volunteers will sleep in shared rooms with other volunteers, and we endeavor to keep the rooms single gender. We also accommodate couples as well. Although we provide sheets and blankets and mosquito nets, volunteers are encouraged to bring their own sheets or sleeping bags ...Food and Water All meals are provided by the organization as part of the program fee. The main staples of the diet are rice, beans, ugali (corn meal), potatoes, cabbage and bread (chapati). Fresh fruit and vegetables are readily available and are inexpensive to purchase. The orphanage is vegetarian as a result of the cost of meat. Volunteers are encouraged to cook and to introduce different meals, for instance past volunteers have introduced pasta and French toast. There are always restaurants available in BUNGOMA for meat–based or western-style meals (such as French fries/hot chips). The water used by the orphanage is from a well and is very clean and safe to consume. We also get running/tap water twice a week. Bottled water is also available from KIMILILI and BUNGOMA....Clothing With regards to clothing, keep in mind that the local area is very dusty and is often hot and dry, even in rainy season. Volunteers should anticipate that clothes and footwear will become dirty quickly so we suggest durable outdoors clothes that will last your visit. Of course there are facilities to wash clothes and shoes as regularly as you wish. Some suggested hints for clothes are: - As the orphanage is in a conservative area, all volunteers should bring at least one pair of long pants or skirt as well as a shirt that covers your shoulders otherwise acceptable clothing includes singlet and knee-length skirts/shorts. Volunteers should understand that very short skirts and skimpy clothing will attract attention and we particularly advise that women volunteers limit the wear of bikini tops, halter necks, midriff tops and short skirts. However we also advice that male volunteers wear a shirt/singlet (i.e. not topless) and wear knee length shorts. - At least two pair of shoes, including one pair of comfortable covered shoes or trainers and one pair of sandals or flip-flops. - Sunhat to prevent sunburn (particularly for volunteers unused to strong sunlight). - During rainy season, the nights and mornings can get cool. We suggest that volunteers bring light jumpers or pullovers to layer clothing (rather than thick jumpers etc)....Cost and Payment Volunteers are required to commit a fee that caters for expenses of their meals, housing and support for our community projects. This is payable in cash upon arrival in Kenya or you can wire the money directly to our bank account. Kindly inquire directly about the volunteer program costs. Please be aware that some participants come through Volunteer Organizations and pay a different price. These Organizations support WWB year round with donations and program fees may vary. Please inquire directly about the volunteer program costs. We usually ask that volunteers pay for the total cost of their placement upon arrival in Kenya. For volunteers staying longer than three months, we are able to accept payment in installments (please ask for further details). The preferred method of payment is cash (payable on first arrival). For volunteers wanting to pay through credit or debit card, we have BANK OR WESTERN UNION available on our website for online payments at least a week before arrival....Airport Transfers and Orientation Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (airport code: NBO) in Nairobi, you will proceed through immigration and customs officials. One of our representatives will be waiting for you outside the arrivals hall. Look for a sign with your name on it. Beware of other people pursuing to sell you a ride. Our representative will accompany you to the orphanage the same day if you arrive before 4:00 PM. If you arrive after 4:00 PM, we organize for volunteers to stay at a hotel in Nairobi, and proceed to the orphanage the next day accompanied by our staff. We are able to assist with arranging accommodation. If you are arriving via other transportation (such as train) please contact us so we can make the necessary arrangements to meet with you. Upon arrival at the orphanage, we provide you with an orientation to enable you to become acquainted with the local culture, language and the orphanage. This orientation will include meeting staff at the orphanage, a tour of the local area, discussion of the volunteer role, recent changes at the orphanage and current plans/developments at the orphanage, etc. On departure, volunteer will be accompanied by GWUOM representative to the airport......During your Stay There are staff members at the orphanage to support and assist you. They assist with caring for the children, administration and managing the day to day activities of the orphanage. They are available to answer questions, act as a local guide and ensure that you settle into the orphanage and way of life. Volunteers can also expect a weekly visit from a representative of GWUOM. This representative will be able to bring any supplies you require, provide information, support and assistant if you require. Also to resolve any issues that may occur. This representative will be available via phone and email at any time during your stay. We will provide you with work that is suitable for your level of ability, experience and meets your interests. Should you have any requests, queries or issues regarding your workload please let us know...What We Expect of Volunteers Your Role as a Volunteer As a volunteer, we encourage you to actively participate in the daily activities of the orphanage such as caring for children, cleaning, teaching, cooking, washing clothes/bedding, fieldwork, construction, watering the vegetable garden, collecting firewood, hauling water, feeding animals’ preparing food, etc. We also encourage you to utilise the skills you have to assist in improving the lives of the children and staff. For instance, volunteers good at sport are encouraged to work with the children at orphanage and those in the community on sports. Attitude It is important for volunteers to understand that the culture in Kenya may be quite different to what they may be accustomed to. Volunteers should bring with them an easy-going, open-minded and relaxed attitude. Kenyan people are very friendly and social people. While we will endeavour to maintain a daily routine, volunteers should understand that things move slowly in Africa (and indeed even at the WWB). Relax and enjoy the slow pace. Remember that life here is not as organized and predictable as life in developed countries. Although work can be very busy and active, at other times work is determined by number of factors including weather, availability of resources, whether a relevant contact has turned up, cultural activities etc. Responsibilities GWUOM expect the following of volunteers: • To keep your room tidy (setting a good example for the children) • To keep your valuables safe – if required, we are able to provide a secure place for items such as passports. • To wash your own clothes and bedding – staff are able to assist if required • To dress appropriately, even outside the orphanage grounds. • To display appropriate behaviour. The area is quite conservative and behaviour such as public displays of affection and swearing will attract attention. Remember you are representing both your country and GWUOM. After Your Stay....What To Bring Below is a list of recommended supplies to have with you during your experience with Watoto Wa Baraka, as suggested by past volunteers. Of course, this is not a comprehensive list but rather should give you an idea of some of the essentials as well as items that will make your stay more comfortable. Also note that most of these items can be purchased with ease in the local town as required. For Yourself - First aid kit - Sunscreen - Camera batteries (rechargeable) - Flashlight/torch (rechargeable) - Bed-sheets & washing towel - International adaptor - Umbrella /poncho / raincoat (dependent on when you are visiting) - Durable Water Bottle (such as a Nalgene bottle) With regards to mosquito nets, the orphanage does provide good quality nets however most volunteers do not require the use of one as there are very few mosquitoes in the area. For volunteers intending to travel to other parts of Kenya, we advise them to bring their own net. Other Other items that volunteers may find useful during their time in Kenya include: - A Kenya travel book, such a Lonely Planet or Rough Guide. - photo’s of your family, friends, pets, home, etc to show the kids - pictures/books of your home country - favourite food recipes to assist with cooking and to share your culture - favourite kids songs, movie, tapes.
